Handover notes

Please use this page to write up any notes on anything that needs to be passed on to the next observer or should go into the end of experiment message.

Notes should be placed below the horizontal line as a new blog entry.

Continuing problems should be copied to the Current Issues page.

**Template for Handover notes:**

Be sure to add any specific notes about the experiment if required, for example “Special back end configuration for x reason”. Put as much detail as you can - the more the better.

It is ESSENTIAL to put your name after EVERY entry. Copy and paste the template into the new handover notes

Again - as much detail as you can. It is important to remember that these notes will be sent to the correlator, so please make sure they make sense to others.

Hb:

  • Recording to HOB+0128 (bank B), +2890 GB.
  • Wind stowed at 02:18 UT, resumed at 02:55 UT. Missed scans 253-0220 through 253-0247a.
  • Wind stowed again at 03:04 UT, resumed at 03:11 UT. Missed scan 253-0306.
  • More wind stow at 08:32:05UT Scan 253-0849a missed
  • and again… scans 1102 to 1114 missed

Ke:

  • Recording to HOB+0124 (bank B), +2786 GB.
  • Bank A has empty 32 GB drive ready for next shift.
  • Tsys high in bands 09, 10 and 11 (>160K).
  • As of 04:00 UT, Tsys >200K in bands 09 and 10, and high in bands 05, 11 and 12 (>150K).

Yg:

  • Recording to BKG-0057 (bank A), +0 GB.
  • Bank B has empty 32 GB drive ready for next shift.
  • Tsys high in band 11 (140K).
  • e-RemoteCtrl connection unreliable and needs to restarted occasionally.

  • Swapped to HOB+0124 at 0450. Missed scan 251-0450a.

  • Wind stow 17:53 – 22:02.

  • System check OK. halt issued at 01:08:37 UT, shcedule resumed at 01:39:18 UT
    • When looking for the timestamp of first halt command, typed halt into input rather than search at 01:40:54 UT, schedule quickly resumed at 01:41:21 UT

Ke:

  • Recording continued on HOB+0123/32000 from 11780 GB
  • Internet connection and eRC failed right before the schedule changeover, but change apparently happened smoothly
  • 249.09:36:46.08 Delay difference >0.5s. Reset DBBC and recording restarted at 10:18:17 (delay difference is -0.285 us)
  • System check OK. Halt issued at 04:02:50 UT, schedule a1404 resumed at 04:23:13

Yg:

  • Recording started on a new module HOB+1006/16000 from 0 GB
  • Bank B Module swap to 32 TB at 03:12 UT - recording continued on current module HOB+1006/16000 from 10361.15 GB
  • System ckeck OK. halt issued at 03:09:22 schedule resumed at 03:40:13
    • Schedule resume produced error ERROR bo -124 No (scan_name=…) observation starting at a future time found in schedule. so I started a1404 manually @ 03:46 UT

  • RFI in channels 13+14 as usual.
  • Delay diff = -0.243us@00:37. Changes from -0.243 to -0.253 (liza)

Ke:

  • Recording to HOB+0123. +5800 GB
  • Autocorrelations: Ch 11,12/15 – spikes, ch 15/15 – slope –> RFI (Liza)
  • Delay diff. = -0.339us@00:37 (Liza)

Yg:

  • Recording to HOB+1009. +5696 GB
  • Autocorrelations: Ch 15/15 slope –> RFI (Liza)
  • Delay diff. = -0.301us@00:37 (Liza)

A1401

The experiment started fine and going ok. Modules' VSNs are inserted in the table.

Hb:

  • Signatures of RFI in channels 14, 15
  • High Tsys in S-band channels
  • 2059 UTC: fmout-gps jumped to 0.25s. Mk5 rebooted to no effect. DBBC rebooted and module changed.
  • 2202 UTC: Returned to schedule with normal clkoffsets. Scans 247-2059 – 247-2200b bad. Now recording to HOB+0129.
  • 2320 UTC: Clock offsets drifting. DBBC rebooted. Previous module seems to be fine. Recording to HOB+0128 again. Scans 247-2059 – 247-2323b now considered bad

Ke:

  • Signatures of RFI in channels 11,12,15
  • High Tsys in S-band channels

Yg:

  • RFI signature in ch 15
  • S-band channels 09, 12, 13, 14 Tsys is a bit high
