Handover notes

Please use this page to write up any notes on anything that needs to be passed on to the next observer or should go into the end of experiment message.

Notes should be placed below the horizontal line as a new blog entry.

Continuing problems should be copied to the Current Issues page.

**Template for Handover notes:**

Be sure to add any specific notes about the experiment if required, for example “Special back end configuration for x reason”. Put as much detail as you can - the more the better.

It is ESSENTIAL to put your name after EVERY entry. Copy and paste the template into the new handover notes

20:50UT: Mark5 lost connection, had to restart Mark5 and reconfigure DBBC, called Jamie on call to fix, missed scans 012-3456 to 012-4567 (Jim)

Again - as much detail as you can. It is important to remember that these notes will be sent to the correlator, so please make sure they make sense to others.

  • 17:51 fs had died (warren)
  • 22:30 L-band receiver 2 on axis change to s/x receiver 1 (w)
  • 22:50 mk5 module write protect error, changed to MAT+003 8000 free (w)
  • 22:51 first good scans 098-2255 098-2259 (w)
  • 23:02 something loose in receiver cabin! halt schedule and go to service (w)
  • 23:30 focus platform linear bearings had come undone (w)
  • 01:48 back on schedule with 099-0148 (w)
  • 02:15 checkmk5 procedure added (w)
  • 15:15 Received continuous errors “Allocating memory for antenna monitoring”. Called Warren and he rebooted the sys26m. Resumed the schedule at 1542 UT. Missed scans 099-1514 through 099-1544 (mas)

  • mk5 -error - no route to host - physical rebooted rectified this. re-syncronised and back on schedule at 4:02 LT.
  • 23:15 inserted checkmk5 procedure into proc file (warren)

23:50 - DBBC3 samplers reporting as bad. Resetting the DBBC3 (JMc)

Yarragadee 12m

pcfs dead. Running with antenna positions supplied through a “Track” File in the HMI interface and a timed script to run the recorder. Also, mk5yg iss having problems with the module. Recording to flexbuffyg instead.

  • 0000 - Discovered recording script is not working properly - time calculation error (JMc)
  • 0104 - Now observing with the recorder running at correct times. There may be some useful data by chance before this… (JMc)
  • 0507 last recording before record script failed to call scan names due to fs interrupt? (w)
  • 0751 started recording using field system to mark5 module USN+0224, start byte 0 (w)
  • 2113 UT ERROR un 111 connection refused - ERROR s5 -23 rfpcn: error opening, rfpic probably not running, see above for error. fs is running, ping shows there is connection, and restarting Monica didn't help. Called Warren and ignoring error! (Simin)
