Handover notes

Please use this page to write up any notes on anything that needs to be passed on to the next observer or should go into the end of experiment message.

Notes should be placed below the horizontal line as a new blog entry.

Continuing problems should be copied to the Current Issues page.

**Template for Handover notes:**

Be sure to add any specific notes about the experiment if required, for example “Special back end configuration for x reason”. Put as much detail as you can - the more the better.

It is ESSENTIAL to put your name after EVERY entry. Copy and paste the template into the new handover notes

  • 1730UT Experiment started 10 ,minutes late at 1740UT because drives were having problems turning on. On the live page the left drive was switching between 'error' or off, and the right drive was on then off then ready.Seemed to fix itself eventually. First scan 337-1741 (Katie).
  • 1947UT Wind Stowed (Katie)
  • Resumed schedule scan 338-0851 (mas)
  • AT 0907 UT, PCFS suddenly crashed. Restart PCFS and received continuous error “Allocating memory for antenna monitoring”. Called Warren and he reboot the drive PCFS. Wind stowed and halt the schedule from scan 338-0917 through … (mas)
  • 1200UT It is not windy (and hasn't been for a couple of hours according to BOM), the live page was not working. Resumed schedule, successfully tracking from scan 338-1212 (Ross)

  • ifc power levels are all over the place again, this seems to be a persistent issue, I have tried all the same things I tried last time (R4920) but it does not seem to be stabilising. is this just due to increasing RFI at Yg?

  • 18:25 Antenna drives not working. Had to go into vdesk and type drvon then slew. Reached source about 60 seconds after start of experiment; scan 325-1830a may be dodgy (Ross)
  • 21:06 Drive pc down due to planned power outage. Rebooted onsite; receiver moved off-axis during outage so a few recorded scans after power restored are dodgy. Missed scans 325-2108a through 325-2142d (Ross)
  • 21:42 Remaining issues with rack being corrected, field system again rebooted. Hobart field system pc also full (apparently) and needed files deleting. Some scans may be okay, but likely most affected from 325-2146b through 325-2257 (Ross)
  • 22:30 restart hobart, fix mk4 rack and receiver comms, mk5hb locked up with spectest issue (warren)
  • 23:06 back on schedule (do we have a disk problem - one drive light only?) (w)
