Handover notes

Please use this page to write up any notes on anything that needs to be passed on to the next observer or should go into the end of experiment message.

Notes should be placed below the horizontal line as a new blog entry.

Continuing problems should be copied to the Current Issues page.

**Template for Handover notes:**

Be sure to add any specific notes about the experiment if required, for example “Special back end configuration for x reason”. Put as much detail as you can - the more the better.

It is ESSENTIAL to put your name after EVERY entry. Copy and paste the template into the new handover notes

Again - as much detail as you can. It is important to remember that these notes will be sent to the correlator, so please make sure they make sense to others.

Hobart 12m

Disk VSN: Flexbuffhb | Data volume at beginning: N/A

  • Schedule drudged and processed using snp2flexbuff.sh. Schedule has been edited to include the SAR scan at 19:18:08. Scans 267-1916 and 267-1919 have been skipped. (JMc)
  • To set up the DBBCs/recorders, please use “aum007.setup.py” but do not run this until after mv022 completes! The reason is that both experiments are using the DBBCHO and flexbuff for the recording.
  • 230149 - DBBCHO restarted with correct v105E_2 software. (JMc)
  • ~0400 Network to the antenna failed. Fixed by power cycling media adaptor, then rebooting antenna controller. (JMc)

  • 23:30 - 2339. Windstows at Yarragadee, but due to malfunctioning anemometer. windyg has been powered off to clear the bogus windstow, (JMc)

  • 1830UT - Experiment started OK (Tiege)
  • 2005UT - Two clock jumps at Ke one after the other. Going to monitor and see if it stabilises now. (as with this previous experiment). (Tiege)
  • 1534UT - MK5 crash / DIMino Crash (JS)
  • 1612UT - MK5 reset. (JS)
    • Lost scans 264-1531 through 264-1610
  • 1612UT - FS locked up during `midob` resetting FS (JS)
    • yg FS was temporarily stalled & unresponsive to commands at the same time but resumed without dying …. hmmmmm
  • 1626UT FS reset, resuming experiment at scan 264-1632 (JS)
    • Lost scans 264-1531 through 264-1628
  • 1626UT “ALARM: scan_check reports Mark5 data format problem” this is likely due to a syncerr_eq_3 across the previous partial recording (264-1628) monitoring for further issues before escalating (JS)
  • 1638UT receive another “m5 -104 mk5cn” error, halted and restarted MK5 (JS)
    • affected scan 264-1641b
  • 1647UT MK5 reset hasn't solve the issues, still plagued by “m5 -104 mk5cn” error whenever a scan ends, despite DIMino running and responding (JS)
  • 1710UT after calling Jamie, the conclusion is that there are bad HDD in the current module causing read/write lag that the field system doesn't like. The data should be recording ok, but the errors will persist (JS)

  • After setup Hobart12m was stuck. Luck a quick drive on and drive off in timehb then antenna=open antenna=operate fixed it. (Lucas)
  • Experiment appears to have started okay (Lucas).

  2. 17:50 UT He supply pressure seems to be gradually falling (currently at 272 psi). However, temp. is below 70K (turbo pump had to be run before the beginning of the experiment) and pressure at 2.4 micHg. (Atifur)
  3. 23:30 UT disk HOB+0115 with Ke LBA and r1859 erased and aov027 start recorded. switched to HOB+0098 (Warren)
