Handover notes

Please use this page to write up any notes on anything that needs to be passed on to the next observer or should go into the end of experiment message.

Notes should be placed below the horizontal line as a new blog entry.

Continuing problems should be copied to the Current Issues page.

**Template for Handover notes:**

Be sure to add any specific notes about the experiment if required, for example “Special back end configuration for x reason”. Put as much detail as you can - the more the better.

It is ESSENTIAL to put your name after EVERY entry. Copy and paste the template into the new handover notes

Again - as much detail as you can. It is important to remember that these notes will be sent to the correlator, so please make sure they make sense to others.

  • 11:57:59 Got the following error: “Large difference between formatter and maser delays. Check for stability of new offset.” Seemed to happen due to source slewing, delays look okay if checked manually (Patrick)

  • 1430UT - During checklist have noticed alarms are muted and Ho26m alarm has been going off since 0926UT. Drives appear to be stuck. Attempting remote fix now. (Tiege)
  • 1500UT - Getting error 'Direct antenna communication unavailable“ when trying to work with fs. Persisting after restart. May need to try vdesk drive reboot. (Tiege)
  • 1530UT - vdesk seems to keep crashing when attempting to switch drives on after an abort. (Tiege)
  • 1540UT - Looks like the drives need a manual restart. The 26m is not following on for the next experiment. So I am not going to drive down and perform the manual reset as at best it would result in 1-1.5 hours of extra data and I do not currently feel safe driving down at ~3am half-asleep. (Tiege)
  • 1545UT - Bugger it, I will head down. So at least the telescope can be stowed properly in case wind picks up etc. (Tiege)
  • 1615UT - Unfortunately it looks like the manual drive reset is not working also. I am unable to switch the power on to the drives. Have spoken to Jamie and we are going to just leave it until Brett can take a look in the morning. (Tiege)
