Handover notes

Please use this page to write up any notes on anything that needs to be passed on to the next observer or should go into the end of experiment message.

Notes should be placed below the horizontal line as a new blog entry.

Continuing problems should be copied to the Current Issues page.

**Template for Handover notes:**

Be sure to add any specific notes about the experiment if required, for example “Special back end configuration for x reason”. Put as much detail as you can - the more the better.

It is ESSENTIAL to put your name after EVERY entry. Copy and paste the template into the new handover notes

Format for entering a comment It is important to stick to this formula - there is a good reason we need this information, so please include it!

Time stamp in UT * Comment * (Your Name)

For Example:

20:00UT: Wind stows, Missed scans 012-3456 to 012-3457 (Jim)

20:50UT: Mark5 lost connection, had to restart Mark5 and reconfigure DBBC, called Jamie on call to fix, missed scans 012-3456 to 012-4567 (Jim)

Again - as much detail as you can. It is important to remember that these notes will be sent to the correlator, so please make sure they make sense to others.

  • 1930UT Helium pressure is above 5 umHg, can't do anything until Warren gets to MtP (JS)
  • 23:00 stopped for an hour to change cryo hose. Still a leak (Warren)
  • 00:00 receiver cool but helium requires constant topping up Warren)
  • 00:00 data down about 170 GB due to service hour (warren)
  • 10.42 UT, Cryogenics He supply pressure is warming up now (250 psi). 70 K stage temperature around 125.9 K and pressure 7.1 micorns Hg. Have informed Warren about it, he said just need to wait till experiment finish (mas)

  • 09:30UT - Warren has fixed the S/X receiver pressure, will take a while for the 70K stage temperature to fall to nominal values, but it should be getting better from now. (Tiege)

  • 16:27UT Second restart caused the mk5 to not want to rise from the dead, called Yg and they manually power cycled. This didnt fix it, so IP power cycled one more time. This time everything appears to be running OK. First good scan should be No0230 (Tiege)
  • 17:03UT It was not running OK, called Jamie, seems to be running okay now as of scan No0236. Jamie believes it is something to do with there being 2 modules in the Yg mk5. (Tiege)
  • 17:40UT Errors + alarms are back again and drives are stuck, going to leave it until morning for a fix as once its up again there will be only 45 mins left of experiment (assuming it works first try…) (Tiege)
