Handover notes

Please use this page to write up any notes on anything that needs to be passed on to the next observer or should go into the end of experiment message.

Notes should be placed below the horizontal line as a new blog entry.

Continuing problems should be copied to the Current Issues page.

**Template for Handover notes:**

Be sure to add any specific notes about the experiment if required, for example “Special back end configuration for x reason”. Put as much detail as you can - the more the better.

It is ESSENTIAL to put your name after EVERY entry. Copy and paste the template into the new handover notes

Again - as much detail as you can. It is important to remember that these notes will be sent to the correlator, so please make sure they make sense to others.

  • General Note: e-remote ctrl doesn't connect to newsmerd. Running new e-remote ctrl. Have had new erc crash upon submitting checklist. (Bryn)
  • 17:50UT - He supply pressure hovering around 273 ish, has come up from low of 271 about 30 mins ago. Deemed not critical since middle of the night and experiment is about to finish. (Ellen)

  • AVG is trying to restart the maser pc at Katherine - I postponed the restart for 24 hours. (Bryn)

  • 1700UT - Good start, everything peachy (JS)
  • 2200UT - Getting some DBBC offset drifts (JS)
  • 2205UT - Reset DBBC during gap, still missed scans 159-2210,159-2212a (JS)
  • 0030UT - Heater switched off in maser room (Approximate time given by Bret, may have been >0033UT) (JR)
  • 0033UT - ALARM: Delay through DBBC has changed. Will monitor and reset DBBC if problem persists. (JR)
  • 0825UT - ALARM: Delay through DBBC has changed. Monitoring for now (Tiege)
  • 0836UT - Still drifting, Have halted the schedule and attempting to reset dbbc and fix the problem. Scans 160-0825, 160-0828a, 160-0834 were all undertaken during the drifting. (Tiege)
  • 0908UT - Think I have fixed the issue, first two attempts at stopping the drifting were unsuccessful, drifting occurred again within minutes of resetting DBBC, additionally mk5 spat the dummy and dimino needed to be killed and restarted. Scans missed were 160-0836a through to 160-0910b inclusive. First good scan is 160-0918a. (Tiege)
  • 2016.160.13:04:28 ALARM: Delay through DBBC has changed. Monitor for stability and reset DBBC if it drifts. (Lucas) Only one alarm so far but will reconfigure if it persists.

  • 04:52 UT - Maser frequency adjustment was performed. Shortly after, air conditioner was also turned off in the maser room. (Tiege)

  • 19:00 UT - Antenna stuck at the very start of the schedule. Attempted resetting the drives etc via HMI, but the elevation drives are not turning on. Contacted on call person (Jim) who suggested that Yarragadee should therefore be left out of R4742. The schedule has been halted and a follow up email has been sent out advising of this. (Jonathan)
  • 02:27 UT - Randall at Yarragadee has had a go at fixing the drives, seems to be working okay so far, first scan recorded is 155-0215 (Tiege)
  • 02:30 UT - Randall wants to halt the schedule and inspect the brakes in a few hours, will update these notes with what scans are missed. (Tiege)
  • 06:02 UT - Schedule halted, brakes were inspected. (Tiege)
  • 06:11 UT - Schedule started again, scans missed were 155-0603, 155-0606 and 155-0612b. First good scan is 155-0617. (Tiege)

  • 06:27UT - The messages below appeared in operator input window on pcfshb… field system and schedule appeared to continue OK (Warren)
