Handover notes

Please use this page to write up any notes on anything that needs to be passed on to the next observer or should go into the end of experiment message.

Notes should be placed below the horizontal line as a new blog entry.

Continuing problems should be copied to the Current Issues page.

**Template for Handover notes:**

Be sure to add any specific notes about the experiment if required, for example “Special back end configuration for x reason”. Put as much detail as you can - the more the better.

It is ESSENTIAL to put your name after EVERY entry. Copy and paste the template into the new handover notes

  • 17:00-18:25 UT – at the start of experiment pcfshb run out of free space and hadn't recorded any logs from 17:00UT until 18:24UT. ERC didn't connect and log monitor didn't warn observer of problems, if any. The status of data during this 1.5 hour is unknown, but allegedly it is unaffected as telescope tracked and recorded during this time. (Liza)

  • UT 1735 Experiment started OK (JS)
  • UT 1818 Fiddling with IFD03 and IFD02 powerlevels during scans 188-1800a-188-1814. Levels are now between 0.1 and 1.0 when on source for both modes (JS)
  • UT 2115 PSUP he supply pressure has dropped below 275. Currently at 274 psi and looks to be still dropping (JS)
  • UT 2326 - Formatter re-synchronised after mark4 rack reset. Still trying to get vc7 working. (JMc)
  • UT 2334 - Swapped vc14 for vc7. vc7 now working but vc14 unlocked. Already heavily RFI affected, so likely no worse off. (JMc).
  • UT 2353 - FS restarted after loosing connection to antenna. (Lucia)
  • UT 0058 - fs says onsource slewing, but antenna says it is tracking. Scheduled halted shortly and trying to fix, but problem persists. (Lucia)
