The latest series of HOB experiments are using X-band for observations on the Hobart12-Hobart26 baseline. To get the best sensitivity we are using the DBBC for Hobart26, rather than the mark4 rack. We use the S/X receiver on the 26m.
Drudg the experiment file as normal, but please note that you will need to run setupxx
rather than setupsx
. Only 8 IFs are being monitored in caltsys (BBCs 1-8, but both USB and LSB channels) and the autocorrelations will appear differently (with the second 8 channels having reversed shapes to the first 8).
The Hobart26m uses the DBBC backend for these experiments rather than the mk5 rack. Unfortunately, the FS only supports controlling one “rack” at a time, so you need to edit configuration files and restart the FS to swap between the backends. There are some instructions included below.
