Handover notes

Please use this page to write up any notes on anything that needs to be passed on to the next observer or should go into the end of experiment message.

Notes should be placed below the horizontal line as a new blog entry.

Continuing problems should be copied to the Current Issues page.

**Template for Handover notes:**

Be sure to add any specific notes about the experiment if required, for example “Special back end configuration for x reason”. Put as much detail as you can - the more the better.

It is ESSENTIAL to put your name after EVERY entry. Copy and paste the template into the new handover notes

CRDS98

Hobart 26m

Disk VSN: HOB-0106/16000 | Data volume at beginning: 0.00 GB

  • CRDS98 was unable to be slogged. This seems to be due to the schedule coming in vex format.
    • on newsmerd:
      wget ftp://cddis.gsfc.nasa.gov/vlbi/ivsdata/aux/2018/crds98/crds98.vex

      to download

    • then cp to /vlbobs/lba/crds98/ on newsmerd (make directory [mkdir /vlbobs/lba/crds98] if it does not exist)
    • For hobart26m drudg, from ~/ on newsmerd, run
      slogit.lba.v4.sh OR slogit.lba.v3.sh

Look at the vex file, if it contains HOBART or HOBART26 as the station name (most likely) then v4. If is is HOB_DBBC or HOB_MK5 run v3. Do not download new file. vex must be in (e.g) /vlbobs/lba/crds98/

    • For ke and yg, run
      slogit.lbake.sh etc

      .

  • Receiver was stuck slightly (~40 mm in x/y) off S/X. Moved to K-band [22GHz, number 8] receiver which is closest (see http://ra-wiki.phys.utas.edu.au/index.php?n=MtPleasant26m.ReceiverPositionsAndSystemTemperatures) then back to S/X [1] and this seemed to work.
  • Got error from mk5=dot? Dot clock/mode not set? Decided to power cycle mk5hb and restart dimino with ./dim crds98ho. This worked and resolved the error and another error about NTP error.
  • 269.17:30:00 Experiment started okay (Lucas).
  • Looks like hobart fs needs reboot, ERROR sc -8 setcl less than 30 days before time error, reboot as soon as possible. (Lucas).
  • Almost all system temperature readings bad. Correct BBCs, rxp and LO.
