Katherine To Do
Install hatch handle
Install receiver and cal plates
cabling from receiver box to feed tube
Install dehumidifier and test 'gimbal' mechanism.
Look at antenna step-response with CTScope
Replace fan on RF box
Modify controller setting to accept remote resets, and test
Put close-outs around elevation jack once cabling, installation and testing is complete
Fix fuel tank
New (2nd hand) starter motor, wrong one.
Get new one from India.
Fit Hobart one.
Connect remote monitoring of diesel running and 'not in auto'
Repalce Az gearbox oil
Confirm full set of spares
, record serial numbers
Control room equipment
Do we need another IPS?
Check cables and cards are securely connected, check for signs of damage
Turn on and see if it works
Run Gino's calibration procedure
Install Ops PC
Fire up Rubidium and Frequency Comparator, monitor stability
Install second power meter, check comms with PCFS
Set up suitable backup mechanism for timing PC (in case of disk failure)
Install power meter plotting software on pcfs (Jim)
Check all four signals are getting through and bandpasses look reasonable
any signs of RFI?
Are cable compensators doing a reasonable job?
look for phase-cal tones at S and X. About the right level?
look for noise diode, check its strength
check that a tone can be put through the system
measure Y-factors at all four bands, calculate Tsys
Attempt to detect a bright source
Jim to provide list of precessed source coordinates
Determine gross pointing offsets and obtain a zeroth-order model (Jim)
Measure SEFD at all bands. Should be ~2500 Jy
Fringe check to Hobart
Confirm PCFS can talk to:
Check source=stow command
GPIB devices (two counters and SML)
check Tsys measurement works
Both banks OK? Martin had a concern
Logging information from:
Site power status (mains or UPS/generator)
Documentation of how to access MONICA data
Check printing from PCFS works
Display screen setup and test.
Warning/alarm system when parameters exceed allowable range.
Documentation for local users:
Disk handling logistics (dispatch and collection)
How to use HMI
How to use the PCFS
How to control the antenna from the hand-box
How to get the antenna out of its limits
How to recover the FS PC in case of disk failure
How to recover the timing PC in case of disk failure
Routine antenna checks:
Check for blocked drainage (those wasps fill them with mud)
Check for water getting into feed tube, hub, pedestal, drives
Check for wildlife getting in to antenna structure
Check for overheating of RF equipment (via MONICA)
Listening to the drives
Get prices from TechRentals for hire of equip
check availability of He at Mac's
check PLL battery fault cause
Exhaust extension for generator
Cable ties in the feed
Door in the feed
Eye-bolt in the cone
Doors in Hub, trim and cutouts, fit
Rod and hook for retrieving fall arrester
Phase Cal xdB - Sband 1dB
Maser battery PLL fault
Lens: clean and check
Install window blind
