Handover notes

Please use this page to write up any notes on anything that needs to be passed on to the next observer or should go into the end of experiment message.

Notes should be placed below the horizontal line as a new blog entry.

Continuing problems should be copied to the Current Issues page.

**Template for Handover notes:**

Be sure to add any specific notes about the experiment if required, for example “Special back end configuration for x reason”. Put as much detail as you can - the more the better.

It is ESSENTIAL to put your name after EVERY entry. Copy and paste the template into the new handover notes

Disk VSN: HOB+0094

Data volume at beginning: 0.0 GB

  • 1730UT Exp started OK. (Ross)
  • Device v3 timed-out on response from MATCN not noticed until setup at 1700UT since Jim observing (Ross)
  • 1810UT Mostly working after a trip to Mt pleasant, except for a single vc which is still dodgy after several restarts (Ross)
  • 1820UT Tried again to reset but made it worse, stable again after 1826UT (Ross)
  • 1852UT Returned to UTAS and errors have returned included LO unlocked lights on 2 of the vcs, waiting until morning now (Ross)
  • 2351UT synced formatter time to station time - noticed that several LO were unlocked on the VC rack at approximately 2325UT - tried resetting the VC rack and TTY distributor. Still seeing errors for one VC - assuming all data prior to this bad due to formatter time issue. (Bryn)
  • 0000UT VC rack issues fixed. Data should be good again.
  • 0843UT Alarm: Previous source in the schedule not reached before new source was commanded. A quick scan of the logs revealed that there was (Lucas):
    • 2017.130.08:43:32.92#antcn#Error: Antenna reported error from last command (0)
    • 2017.130.08:43:32.96#antcn#Antenna control system Problem with the antenna drives
    • Antenna was fixed by following notes here. Only required the first bit so drives must have got confused in a little loop. Maybe due to the small scan times (Lucas).
    • Scans effected 130-0844 through to 130-0902 (Lucas)

Keep getting ACU time errors. As far as I can tell from my reading on the wiki page this is fine, however annoying. I tried the method from R1766 when Jamie fixed it with 'rebooting the drives in hmi' however all the reboots I could think of haven't worked. Error is ACU time differenced exceeds 0.25 seconds.

Module CURT+102/6000/, start position 0.385 GBs

  • Experiment started okay, although I got an alarm about rfpic time-out, pretty sure this is a known problem (Lucas).
  • rfpcn alarm keep going off. Just for fun I tried restarting rxmon a few times, didn't work. Since we recently talked about this in the meeting I'm assuming the pic is still broken so gonna turn the alarm off in the alarm_actions files (Lucas).

KE

Module USN-0093/4000/, start position 1.090 GBs

  • wth not returning any values (Lucas).
  • Experiment started okay (Lucas).

YG

Module USN-0067/4000/, start position 0.385 GBs

  • wth reporting values however ready_message.pl isn't inserting them into email (Lucas).
  • Experiment started okay (Lucas).
  • 22:25 UT despite the lack of errors YG has steadily lost 13 GBs of data since the beginning of the experiment (Lucas).
