Handover notes

Please use this page to write up any notes on anything that needs to be passed on to the next observer or should go into the end of experiment message.

Notes should be placed below the horizontal line as a new blog entry.

Continuing problems should be copied to the Current Issues page.

**Template for Handover notes:**

Be sure to add any specific notes about the experiment if required, for example “Special back end configuration for x reason”. Put as much detail as you can - the more the better.

It is ESSENTIAL to put your name after EVERY entry. Copy and paste the template into the new handover notes

====== Experiment Name ======

**Hobart 12m**

Disk VSN: abc-123 | Data volume at beginning: 2.34 GB

   * 1300UT a comment from me (user)

**Katherine 12m**

Disk VSN: | Data volume at beginning: GB

   *

**Yarragadee 12m**

Disk VSN: | Data volume at beginning: GB

   * 1300UT Experiment started okay (JMc).

Format for entering a comment It is important to stick to this formula - there is a good reason we need this information, so please include it!

Time stamp in UT * Comment * (Your Name)

For Example:

20:00UT: Wind stows, Missed scans 012-3456 to 012-3457 (Jim)

20:50UT: Mark5 lost connection, had to restart Mark5 and reconfigure DBBC, called Jamie on call to fix, missed scans 012-3456 to 012-4567 (Jim)

Again - as much detail as you can. It is important to remember that these notes will be sent to the correlator, so please make sure they make sense to others.

A1524

Station checks performed after A1524 was completed. Pointing came back fine for all 3 and everything else seemed fine. One issue was with Hobart's iread: ifc and ifd power values were a lot higher than they should be. (Ellen)

Hobart

Module: HOB+0121 start pos 4128.7 GB

  • 18:00 UT - Experiment started ok except that recording didn't start till it was meant to end and so 3 seconds of the first source we recorded. (Ellen)
  • 02:30 UT - disk_pos seems to drift ahead. Now +100 GB. We had changed the recording in order to not loose so much recored data. Now the scans start on the right time, but they are recording too long. This causes several onsource SLEWING alarms. (Lucia)
  • 08:08 UT - Disc pos ~ 170 GB ahead. (Ellen)

Katherine

Module HOB+0117 start pos 12610 GB

  • 18:00 UT - Experiment started ok.

Yarragadee

Module: HOB+0123 start pos 10680 GB

  • 18:00 UT - For some reason recording didn't start for the first scan until AFTER it was meant to finish (even though schedule rolled over perfectly from last experiment) and so stopped as soon as it started. So first scan 168-1800 missed essentially. (Ellen)

  • 19:25 UT - Windstowed until 21:45. Scans affected: 162-1925 to 162-2145b. It didn't release itself (something I didn't notice earlier because I slept through the alarm :\) but when I tried to release it, the field system stowed again because it thought the wind was too high even though it was only 9km/h. So I had to terminate the field system. Missed scan: 162-2149b (13 GB missing). (Ellen)
  • high Tsys in last two sband channels (Lucia)
